People in the northeast continue protesting against the Citizenship amendment bill. Sit-in-demonstrations were staged at various places in state as well today. Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation of Kshetrigao branch also staged protest at Kshetri, Keirao and Mayang Imphal today. Protestors shouted slogans against the bill as they burned effigies of Prime minister Narendra Modi.
On the other hand, members of the nine political parties, CPI(M), CPI, RSF, AIFB, AAB, NCP PRJA, BSP and JD(S) took out procession against the CA Bill from Irabot bhavan to the Western Gate of Kangla today. MPs of the political parties including MP D Raja also took part in the procession. Talking to media persons, MP D Raja said, CPI members along with MPs of left parties will stand against the bill which is not at all accepted by the people living in the State
