Manipur Forest Department has launched ‘Chief Minister’s Green Manipur Mission’ at SEEDS Complex, Saheibung village in Kangpokpi district today. On the occasion, Chief Minister N Biren said the campaign is launched especially to help curb the ecological imbalances and combat climatic change. He stressed that natural disasters are the creations of the present generation unlike the forefathers who preserved and conserved forests in the name of religion. He stated that change of climatic conditions can be controlled by planting more trees. N Biren said, under the campaign, the State Government encourages every village of the State to protect and develop each forest land measuring an area of at least 5 to 10 acres.
