ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS SECURITY MEET

Mantripukhari Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted security meet at Koirengei. The security forum was attended by village Pradhans, ward members, councillors, members of the village youth club, Meira Paibis and locals of the area. 

During the meet, the locals were sensitised and updated on the current situation existing in the area. Interactions were carried out on necessary measures to be undertaken for maintaining strict vigil against illicit activities in the area, future action plan in respect of civic action projects like medical camps, recruitment in the Assam Rifles and the Indian Army as well as career counselling for youth. In addition, as part of ‘go green initiative’ the locals were also educated on the importance of trees and encouraged to grow more trees to keep the environment healthy and to save natural resources for future generations.    

The locals expressed their gratitude and appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles for the conduct of such security meeting and ensuring peace in the area and assured their commitment and assistance in maintaining the same. The security meet concluded with tea and refreshments for all the attendees. 

On the other hand,  as part of the continued endeavour of Assam Rifles towards National agenda of Skill Development, Sajik Tampak Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South), under Border Area Development Project 2018 -19, flagged off a two months training programme on Beauty Therapist and Parlour for border villages of Churachandpur District, Manipur. The flagging off was done by Commander 28 Sector Assam Rifles on 31st July 2019. 

The course is being conducted at JCRE Skills Solution, Imphal, which is a registered vocational training provider under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India and National Skill Development Centre certified partner in Manipur.  

A total of 15 female candidates from Border villages of Churachandpur District are taking part in the Beauty Therapist and Parlour training. Beauty Parlour is a growing industry and it provides immense opportunities for individuals especially ladies to become entrepreneurs after successful training. The candidates can even open their own Saloons and Beauty Parlours or become independent professional Make-up Artists or Hair Dresser’s post-certification.
