10 students from Mother’s Pride Academy, being selected for  Manipur State, with Attal TinkeringLab

 

National e-Governance Division, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India and Intel India designed a National Challenge – ‘Ideate for India – Creative Solutions Using Technology’.

This challenge aims to give young students a platform and opportunity to become ‘solution creators’ for the problems they see around them and their communities. This initiative allows the participants to gain a basic understanding of ‘Skills of the Future’ such as design thinking, ideation – idea generation, making, do-it-yourself concepts, collaboration etc.

The challenge is implemented at the national level – open to school students from classes 6 – 12 across the country

There are 11 core theme areas across which students can share their ideas/solutions.

There are 2 categories – Junior (classes 6–8) and Senior (classes 9-12)

In phase I, – Students access curated online videos and submit their proposed solutions/ideas in an online format like a video. Top 10 ideas are shortlisted from each State and UT.

In phase II – 10 children selected as top performers per State and UT are invited for a regional Tech-Creation Boot Camp.

10 students from Mother’s Pride Academy, being selected for  Manipur State, with Attal TinkeringLab Teacher and Principal participated in the 4-days Ideate for India – Creative Solutions Using Technology- Regional Tech-Creation Boot Camp for East region in Kolkata, which was held from 5th July to 8th July 2019 at Capital O 19639LBD Resorts & Hotel, Banku Bihari Chatterjee Rd, Kasba, Kolkata. During the camp, on the first day, all participants had the brainstorming session on Ideation, team building, Design thinking: Use of Design Thinking to solve the problem statement, Introduction to 3D Design: Software and possibilities, Hands on with 3D Designing and 3D Printing. 

 

On the second day, all participants attended in the session of Introduction to basic of Electronics and Micro-controllers, Working with Microcontrollers, Sensors and other modules, Automation with Microcontrollers, Introduction to IoT, Hands-on with Data monitoring with IoT and Journey from Idea to Patent.

On the 3Rd day, the session was on Research on current trends in IoT and AI and future possibilities and working on the Prototype of finalised Ideas.

On the last day, the session was on Product Design and Development cycle.

In phase III – 50 students will be selected based on their tech-creations being implemented in the community and invited to New Delhi for the National Showcasing and felicitated as Tech-Creation Champions.
